House Legends

The dishes people drive for

Ask any regular. These are the plates that built the Blazer's name over five decades on Route 22.

Westchester's Favorite Burger

The Blazer Burger

$14.00

Cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and bacon on a hard roll. The burger that regulars — and one very opinionated burger critic — call the best in Westchester.

Double-Fried

Blazer Signature Wings

$16.75

Fried twice for a shattering crunch, then tossed to order. Also available Buffalo, BBQ, or Teriyaki — or by the dozen for the table.

A Blazer Original

The Cape Cod Reuben

$14.50

Our twist on the classic, alongside the traditional Corned Beef Reuben ($14.00) and Turkey Reuben ($13.50). Grilled, stacked, gone in minutes.

Our Story

Why "Blazer"?

The name comes from western Ireland in the late 1800s — a band of foxhunters who, after a long day's work, would gather in a rough hut to celebrate. When the merriment ended, they set the hut ablaze and watched it burn. The glow of the Galway "Blazer."

1950s

A roadside rest stop

By the early 1950s, the little rest area on Route 22 had been fully converted into a restaurant and tavern — a welcome sight for travelers on the long road through North Salem.

1971

Tom & Emer Heavey open the Blazer

The Blazer Pub opens its doors, bringing a piece of old Ireland to Purdys — hearty food, honest pours, and a room where everybody ends up a regular.

Today

Still the neighborhood's living room

Fifty-plus years on, the Friday Lunch Crew has been coming since the 1980s, the wings are still double-fried, and the welcome is still the warmest on Route 22.
